Choosing a kurta for Diwali

Diwali is three or four occasions in one week: the puja at home, the family dinner, the party with friends and Bhai Dooj. One or two well-chosen kurtas cover all of them.

For the puja

Light, comfortable and easy to sit cross-legged in. Pastels such as sage green and blush pink are right for the morning and for Lakshmi puja at home, worn with a white pajama.

For the evening

Deep colours come alive by lamplight. Navy and royal blue are safe choices that look right in every family photograph.

For Bhai Dooj and visiting

You will be in and out of cars and homes all day. A regular fit in a cotton blend stays comfortable from the first house to the last.

Questions we hear at the counter

Which colour kurta should I wear for Diwali?

There is no rule. Lighter colours suit the puja and deeper colours suit the evening. Black is popular for Diwali parties, though many families avoid it for the puja itself.

Do these kurtas come with a pajama?

The pieces online today are kurtas only. A white cotton pajama pairs with all of them. Message us on WhatsApp if you need a pajama from the shop with your order.

Will it reach me before Diwali?

Orders are packed at our Rajouri Garden shop. Message us on WhatsApp with your pin code and we will confirm the delivery date before you order.

What if the size is wrong?

You have 7 days to exchange for another size at either of our shops in Delhi. The size guide and the measurements on each product page help you get it right the first time.
