What to wear to a Diwali party
The invitation says "Indian festive" and tells you nothing else. Here is the short version.
Office Diwali party
Keep it clean and solid. A navy or royal blue kurta with a white pajama reads festive without trying too hard, and you can wear it at your desk all day. If your office is casual, wear the same kurta over dark jeans.
Card party
Card parties run late and happen on the floor. Pick an easy regular fit, roll the sleeves once, and choose a colour that looks good in warm light. Blush pink and royal blue both do.
House party and family dinner
This is where pastels and prints earn their place. A printed sage green kurta is enough on its own. No jacket needed.
One kurta, three evenings
Change what you wear it with. White pajama and mojaris for the puja, jeans and clean sneakers for the party, a Nehru jacket when the evening is formal.
Questions we hear at the counter
Can I wear a kurta with jeans to a Diwali party?
Yes. A solid kurta over dark, straight jeans is right for house parties and most office parties. Keep the pajama for the puja and for anything with the elders.
What do I wear to an office Diwali party?
A plain kurta in navy or royal blue with a white pajama. It is festive, comfortable through a full workday, and never overdressed.
Which colour kurta is best for Diwali night?
Deep blues look rich beside diyas and fairy lights. A pastel such as blush pink stands out in photographs, because most people wear dark colours at night.
Which size should I order?
Every product page lists the chest, length, shoulder and sleeve of the actual garment. Compare them with a kurta or shirt you own, or message us on WhatsApp and we will tell you.
