Wedding kurtas for men, function by function
A North Indian wedding is four or five outfits, not one. Here is how our counter has dressed guests, brothers and fathers for 54 years.
Haldi and mehendi
Day functions, turmeric and photographs in sunlight. Pick a pastel: blush pink or sage green sits well beside the marigolds and does not fight the bride's yellow. Choose an easy fit and a fabric you can sit on the floor in.
Sangeet and cocktail
Evening light is kind to deep colours. Royal blue and navy hold their colour under warm lamps and look sharp in every group photograph. Wear with a white churidar or a straight pajama.
The baraat and the pheras
A plain kurta under a Nehru jacket is the easiest way to look dressed without looking like the groom. Navy under a cream or gold jacket is a combination that does not fail.
Dressing the whole family
If you are buying for the groom's father, his brothers and the children together, message us on WhatsApp. We will show you options on a video call from the shop floor, keep the sizes aside and send everything in one order. Our Rajouri Garden and Karol Bagh shops carry men's sizes 36 to 52 and boys from age 5.
Questions we hear at the counter
What should a male guest wear to an Indian wedding?
A kurta with a pajama or churidar works for every function. Go lighter in colour for day functions such as the haldi and mehendi, deeper for the sangeet and reception, and add a Nehru jacket for the baraat.
Which colour kurta is best for a haldi?
Yellow is the classic, but pastels such as blush pink and sage green photograph just as well and can be worn again. Avoid white if turmeric will be thrown.
Can I order for a whole wedding party?
Yes. Send us the functions, the dates and the sizes on WhatsApp at +91 96677 33733. We put the selection together on a video call and ship it together or in parts.
What if a size does not fit before the function?
You have 7 days to exchange for another size at either shop. If the wedding is close, tell us the date when you order and we will check the measurements with you first.
